PJ Business Consulting Ltd trading as Flamme Rouge Cash Flow Solutions was set up by Paul Jay (PJ) having worked in the banking sector for many years. Paul started his career as an apprentice in an engineering firm gaining valuable work experience along with a business and finance qualification. After completion of the apprenticeship Paul joined the motor trade on a management trainee program working at various dealerships in the group. Working as a Business Manager and in sales management he quickly became responsible for a number of staff ensuring they met targets and controlling departmental budgets.


Most of Pauls working life has been spent in the banking sector with 13 years’ experience in various roles. He started in the Receivables Finance sector as a Business Development Manager providing funding solutions for small business customers. For the last 8 years Paul was Associate Director – Client Management responsible for the relationship and risk of a wide range of different businesses ranging from small new starts to large household names with turnovers of £200m in many different sectors. Consequently he has built up a large range of business skills and acumen and also the ability to communicate with a range of different people.


Paul is particular adept at deciphering and explaining complex scenarios to a level that his audience is comfortable with. Paul’s experience in being able to understand business issues through analysis of the business not only financially, but also operationally along with a sound knowledge of market, sector and local specific issues, has been key to his success. Interpretation of accounts and business plans and the ability to challenge them has enabled Paul to work closely with clients in helping them develop their business whilst ensuring the bank maintained an appropriate level of lending balanced against risk. Strategy, planning and problem solving are a particularly strong skill set enhanced by Paul’s ability to easily see and run scenarios and outcomes in his mind.


Having run his own business in the past Paul has first hand experience of the demands and difficult decisions that businesses need to make along with the administrative requirements. His involvement as a School Governor has broadened his skills further bringing new challenges in a different environment.


Paul’s main hobby is cycling and he regular competes at Time Trials up to distances of 50 miles. He enjoys the physical and technical challenges it brings along with the need to continually improve and its competitive nature, a character trait that is also part of his professional life. Paul also runs his own race team which is one of the strongest teams in the region regularly gracing the top of the result sheets.
